Our Author Joanne Leyland
Joanne Leyland is a qualified languages teacher with over 20 years experience in teaching Spanish, French, German, Italian or English to children. The two things Joanne loves the most about teaching is seeing her pupils enjoy her lessons and using her creativity to help them learn. As part of her university course Joanne studied marketing in Spain alongside native Spanish students. She later taught English in Spain for a year before returning to England where she lives now.
Joanne has enjoyed both living in and travelling around Spain. There are so many lovely places to visit in mainland Spain or one of it's many beautiful islands. As Joanne has lived in Southern Spain she is particularly fond of the region called Andalusia (or Andalucía in Spanish). If you ever go to Southern Spain Joanne would recommend you visit Málaga, Gránada, Córdoba and / or Almería.
The book "On Holiday In Spain Cool Kids Speak Spanish" by Joanne Leyland has one topic called typical Spanish food as Joanne wanted to share her knowledge of somethings you may like to eat whilst you are on holiday. Spain has so many lovely typical dishes to try! Joanne particularly likes paella, tortilla and churros so you will find all of these mentioned in this book, as well as a selection of other tapas and ice cream flavours! Afterall, it's nice to treat yourself to an ice cream on a nice sunny day and Spain certainly has a lot of good weather!
Joanne Leyland has written 21 books for children learning Spanish, from activity books, colouring books to games and stories ... there's basically something for everyone ... and using a mix of activities will make learning Spanish more enjoyable and more memorable.
